Well it is official our Braxton's teams footballs season has ended. We were a little sad that we didn't make the play-offs, but since basketball has already begun, and we have been doing double duty, it was okay.
I really wondered when the season started how Braxton would like football. He is very athletic, but very calm and mild. He is usually ALL BASKETBALL. I didn't think there was a mean aggressive bone in him, but I guess I was wrong. He learned a ton, was really aggressive and totally enjoyed football. In fact, he loved playing defense and tackling.
To finish off the season we had a really special experience. There was a young man on Brax's football team who has Asperger's Syndrome, a form of Autism, and he scored the final touchdown of the season. I would go into detail about this, but I think I will let the professionals handle it.![]()
They were on the front page of the standard examiner and featured on ksl radio. It is a great story and I am so glad Brax got to be a part of it.
The Ogden Standard Examiner ran this story on the front page of the paper Friday.
KSL also covered the story. You can read it here. There is video of the play(s) and some fun pictures too.
I am so grateful for the opportunity that Braxton had with this football team this year. Here is a slide show of a bunch of the pictures I took throughout the season.
